The Grand Tour of Corsica Sporty 

A raw challenge. 8 days. The full tour of Corsica by pedal power.

Head south to Bonifacio, its vertiginous cliffs, then immediate immersion in the wild interior with the climb to Zicavo. Days chain between passes, isolated roads and grandiose panoramas until Corte, before swinging to Cape Corse and its challenging profiles. Balagne offers brief respite, soon replaced by the demanding return to Porto, then the final stage to Ajaccio to complete this major tour.

Jour 1 : Ajaccio - Bonifacio

Departure from the imperial city towards the extreme south of the island. The road crosses contrasting landscapes between dense maquis and jagged coasts. The ascent reveals spectacular panoramas of the Ajaccio gulf before swinging to the wild south. Majestic arrival in Bonifacio, citadel perched on its white limestone cliffs overlooking the Strait of Bonifacio.
Jour 2 : Bonifacio - Zicavo

Queen stage of the route, leaving the Mediterranean coast to plunge into mountainous Corsica. Progressive ascent crosses the villages of Alta Rocca, authentic territory where time seems suspended. Passes succeed each other, unveiling raw and preserved nature before reaching Zicavo, mountain village nestled in forests.
Jour 3 : Zicavo - Corte

Crossing the mountainous heart of the island via winding roads serpentining between chestnut and laricio pines. Alpine landscapes succeed deep valleys. Progressive descent towards Corte, historic capital and university city, guardian of Corsican identity at the foot of the high peaks.
Jour 4 : Corte - Sisco

Demanding stage crossing the central ridge to reach Cape Corse. The ascent towards the passes offers stunning views over surrounding massifs. The descent towards the eastern slope reveals the Tyrrhenian coast before reaching Sisco, a discreet Cape Corse village with preserved coastal hamlets.
Jour 5 : Sisco - Saint-Florent

Spectacular climb up Cape Corse via its eastern coast then swing to the west. The corniche road unveils vertiginous panoramas of the sea. Successive hilltop villages testify to authentic Corsica. Arrival in Saint-Florent, elegant seaside resort at the foot of the mineral Agriates desert.
Jour 6 : Saint-Florent - Algajola

Crossing the mineral Agriates desert then discovery of Balagne, the garden of Corsica. Hilltop villages dominate cultivated valleys and fine sand beaches. The road winds between sea and mountain, revealing the welcoming soul of this blessed region.
Jour 7 : Algajola - Porto

Crossing the Marsolinu pass offering a majestic view of Calvi gulf. Descent to Galeria then climb towards the wild western coast. The Palmarella pass unveils one of Corsica's most beautiful panoramas before the plunge to Porto, gateway of the Calanches.
Jour 8 : Porto - Ajaccio

Apotheosis of the journey through the famous Calanches of Piana, nature's masterpiece classified as UNESCO. Red rocks sculpted plunge into the deep blue sea. Passage through Cargèse then triumphant return to Ajaccio, completing this full tour of the Island of Beauty.

Quelle semaine!!! une organisation au top, de belles rencontres avec les participants, 7ème fois pour moi en Corse mais 1ère fois à Vélo pour ce Grand Tour Majestueux qui se mérite mais reste accessible avec un peu de préparation.
